Connect over Wi-Fi or the gateway hotspot

Use the gateway hotspot for access when no local network is available.

Connection

Earlier iQunet servers and Sensor Dashboard. Follow the supplied quick-start guide for your model.

Local hotspot

The older server guide describes a Wi-Fi hotspot named SERN followed by the device identifier. Use the access details provided with your unit. The documented local dashboard address is http://192.168.42.1:8000/dashboard/app.

In the original server guide, the hotspot password is the Sensor Proxy ID supplied with the unit. Keep that model-specific access information with the installation instructions.

Join your Wi-Fi network

In the documented Wireless-802.11 panel, select the network, enable automatic connection, choose encryption and save the network key. The hotspot Auto Off option disables the hotspot when a Wi-Fi connection is detected.

The earlier network configuration gives Ethernet precedence when Ethernet and Wi-Fi are both connected. Keep that priority in mind when checking whether a newly configured Wi-Fi route is actually being used.

Check the installed version

Wi-Fi configuration through the hotspot is documented from software 1.2.6. Older versions require a wired connection. Gateway models and later software can have different access details.
