Record your first measurement

Choose a sensor, capture a measurement and inspect the result before setting a schedule.

Measurements

Current M4 dashboard and earlier Sensor Dashboard. Controls depend on the sensor type and installed software version.

Current M4: record and inspect a waveform

Open Sensor Manager from the dashboard Home and select your vibration sensor. In Capture Setup, choose Open setup to review the sensor, range, Rate and Samples. Close the setup window when the settings suit your measurement.

Choose Record to start a wireless vibration capture. For ModVibe, the button is labelled Manual waveform. Wait for the measurement to download, then use Open in vibration expert beside Last Time Domain. Select Time to inspect the waveform or Spectrum to inspect its frequency components.

For scheduled recordings from a wireless vibration sensor, set the interval in Capture Interval and switch it On. Start with one manual recording so you can check the measurement before enabling the schedule.

Manual recording

The following controls describe the earlier Sensor Dashboard interface.

Select the sensor in the Connected Devices list. In the documented vibration workflow, REC in Capture Setup starts a measurement, and the vibration lab shows the recorded data. Other sensor types can use a FORCE control.

Scheduled measurements

Enable automatic measurements in Capture Interval and choose the interval between recordings. GraphQL also offers sensor-specific recording commands and methods for enabling the measurement queue and setting its interval.

Match the settings to the sensor

Recording commands and parameters differ by sensor type. Consult the API documentation served by the installed gateway before sending a mutation.
