MAD vibration sensor
MAD uses the wireless vibration sensor enclosure shown here.

Follow equipment that moves through your site

Monitor carts, rails and chains with a sensor that wakes when movement exceeds its activation threshold. It retains activity measurements while travelling outside radio coverage and transfers them when the connection returns.

Measurement
Three-axis vibration + temperature
Activation
Configurable movement threshold
Power
Two replaceable CR2032 cells

Measure on the move. Transfer on return.

Wait for movement

The sensor sleeps until activity exceeds its activation threshold.

Retain the activity

Timestamped activity values are buffered, together with the waveform associated with the strongest measured activity.

Transfer on return

Stored measurements transfer when the sensor is back within radio coverage.

Wireless measurements. Local history.

The sensor sends measurements to the M4 through a compatible iQunet radio interface. Review the history in your browser and connect the recorded values to your existing systems.

Measurement specifications

IVIB161510-MAD-008 details

Acquisition
12–400 samples/s; 32–8,192 samples per axis; selectable 2, 4 or 8 g range.
Measurement
Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), three-axis waveforms and temperature. Two replaceable CR2032 cells.
Buffer
Approximately eight hours outside radio coverage in the documented configuration. Available duration depends on recording settings; the sensor retains activity values and the selected full waveform.
Installation
57 × 47 × 14 mm, 35 g; −20°C to +70°C. IP65, or IP68 with the specified battery upgrade set. Server software 1.3.1 or later.

Connection & mounting

iQunet wireless network

The sensor sends measurements to an M4 with a compatible iQunet radio interface, directly or through an optional Repeater. The M4 stores the data for waveform, spectrum, waterfall and trend analysis.

Stores timestamped MAD activity values and the three-axis waveform associated with the highest activity. Buffered data transfers to the server when the sensor returns to radio coverage.
