Edge Gateway M4

Sensor data and local history. AI reporting.

Temperature, pressure, vibration and voltage measurements flow through compatible interfaces into the hand-held M4 gateway; data flows out through its OPC UA server, MQTT client and OpenAI MCP connection.

Many sensor inputs. One local database.

An industrial edge gateway for sensor acquisition, local storage and browser analysis. Connect through OPC UA and MQTT. Operate offline, or go online for remote access and OpenAI MCP.

Two ways to use the same local data

The database stays on the M4 in both modes.

OpenAI MCP → ChatGPT & Codex

Your AI workspace connects directly to the M4 for analysis and reporting, without an iQunet intermediary. Remote browser access uses iQunet Connect.

Ask for a weekly report from your measurements OpenAI

Ask in ChatGPT or Codex. The AI reads M4 data through MCP and returns your report.

You ask
Which motors show new spectral components or increased peak amplitudes compared with last week? Compare spectra at similar operating conditions and report the frequencies and amplitude changes.
Example AI response

The shaft-speed component near 25 Hz is about 5.7× its previous amplitude.

Possible cause: rotor imbalance. Phase and directional measurements would help confirm the cause.

Recorded vibration spectra with added modelled ADXL380 noise: Week x above, Week x+1 below, on matching scales.

MCP access is read-only. Requested measurements are shared with your AI workspace.

01 / CONNECTIONS

Sensor inputs and system interfaces

FROM YOUR EQUIPMENT

Modbus equipment

Read Modbus RTU devices over RS-485 and Modbus TCP devices over Ethernet, including compatible PLCs and sensors.

Analog sensors

Read 4–20 mA and 0–10 V signals through compatible analog input modules.

Wireless sensors

Private LoRaWAN network and application servers run on the M4. iQunet vibration and motor-current sensors communicate over a private iQunet wireless network.

TO YOUR EXISTING SYSTEMS

Interfaces to your systems

OPC UA server, MQTT client and GraphQL APIs for SCADA, MES, historians and custom applications.

Monitoring software

Contact iQunet with your device model, signal type or Modbus register map. We will confirm compatibility and the required interface modules. Implementation times are short.

02 / SOFTWARE

Configuration, monitoring and data access

Browser-based software, included with the M4.

Sensor configuration

Set sensor parameters and alerts in your browser. A built-in Wi-Fi hotspot supports initial configuration.

Dashboards

Build dashboards by dragging charts, gauges and KPIs into place. View measurements from a browser on your local network.

History & export

Review time-series measurements stored on the gateway and export CSV files. Google Sheets reporting is available when connected online.

Updates & device support

Software updates add support for new devices. Additional device integrations can be developed through iQunet I/O plug-ins.
